I needed to print a replacement part for the Steam Controller right bumper. Apparently this is a common failure for the controller. I took a blind guess that the polycarbonate print would be strong enough, but it wasn't. The same part that failed before snapped off.
Also, the tolerances were a bit off. I had to bore out 2 holes a little larger so that a metal shaft from the controller would fit. I also had to sand down a couple pegs on the reverse side so that the part would fit into the controller. It was during my handling the part with a filer that the part snapped.
I don't really blame anyone for this, but it still sucks. I wonder if I wouldn't have had any of these problems if I had printed in a different material or tolerance. 0.5 mm seems a bit large now that I think about it.
Oh well. I'll probably try to epoxy it together later.
